5 Signs You're Overdue for a Tire Inspection

5 Signs You're Overdue for a Tire Inspection

Symptoms of Needing a Tire Check

Here are 5 symptoms of needing a tire check that you should watch out for.

Tires Look Kinda... Bald?

  1. People lose hair well, tires lose their tread. The tread is the cool pattern on the tire that helps cars grip the road. If it looks smooth or super worn down, that's a big sign that it's time for a checkup.

Feeling a Bit Wobbly?

  1. Have you ever felt your car shake or vibrate when you drive, especially at certain speeds? That could mean there's a problem with your tires. Maybe one is wearing out faster than the others, or there's an issue with tire balance. If your ride isn't as smooth as usual, it's definitely time to see what's up with those tires.

Slower Stop Time?

  1. If you're driving and you feel like your car isn't stopping as quickly as it used to, especially on wet roads, that's another sign. Tires with good tread help cars stop safely. If they're worn out, they can't grip the road well, and stopping takes longer. It's super important to be able to stop quickly if something unexpected happens, like a deer dashing across the road!

Weird Bulges and Bumps

  1. Tires should be nice and round, like a basketball. But sometimes, they might get weird bumps or bulges on the sides or even in the tread area. If you see that, it's a sign that something's not right inside the tire. This can be risky because the tire might suddenly go flat or even burst! So if you spot a tire like this get it checked!

Tire Warning Light on Your Dashboard

  1. Most modern cars are super smart. They have a little light on the dashboard that turns on when there's a problem with the tires, usually with tire pressure. It looks like a flat tire or an exclamation mark inside parentheses. If that light comes on, come in and get them checked out.

Quick Tip:
Even if you don't notice any of these signs, it's a good idea to get your tires checked regularly, like once a year, to make sure they're in great shape especially when driving in colder conditions.
